Why creators add an English version

Advertisers pay for viewers, and they pay the most for viewers in a few countries where most people watch in English. An English version is the most direct way to put a video you already made in front of them.

It also reaches English speakers in markets where ads pay less, so the result depends on who actually watches. That's why we show ranges, not promises.

In 2024 data, advertisers paid ~7× more per 1,000 YouTube ad impressions in the US than in Mexico, and ~9× more than in Brazil.1

CPM is what advertisers pay, not what a creator earns. Pay depends on where viewers watch, the niche and YouTube Partner Program eligibility. No result is guaranteed.

  • Add an English audio track to the same YouTube video.
  • Start a separate English channel for your translated videos.
  • Post the English MP4 on TikTok, Reels, Facebook or your own site.

An honest comparison

YouTube dubs for free. Here's when DubSync is worth paying for.

YouTube's automatic dubbing is free and switched on by default for eligible channels.2 If it works for your video, use it. DubSync is for when you need something it doesn't give you.

What DubSync doesn't do: it doesn't publish to YouTube for you, and you can't edit the translated script. Watch the MP4 before you publish it.

After the dub

Where to publish the English version

  • Same video, English audio track

Viewers choose the language and the views stay on one video. It needs YouTube's advanced features, and an existing English auto-dub must be removed first.4

  • A separate English channel

Allowed, but YouTube's policies on reused content and on generic or repetitive content apply. Make it clearly your official English channel and avoid mass uploads.5

  • TikTok, Reels, Facebook and your site

The English MP4 is a normal video file, so it goes anywhere you already post video.

YouTube exempts cloning your own voice for a dub or voiceover; realistic changes that mislead viewers still need disclosure.6 Before any dub starts, you confirm your rights to the video and every speaker's consent.

Questions

Before you dub

Will the English voice sound like me?

Each speaker's English voice is created from their original voice, so it should sound similar, not identical. Clear speech and little background noise give the best result.

Which languages can I dub from?

You don't choose a source language: we detect the spoken language automatically. You choose English, or any of our 28 target languages, as the language to dub into.

Can I edit the translation?

No. DubSync doesn't offer script editing, so watch the finished MP4 before you publish it.

Does an English version guarantee more money?

No. Ad rates follow where viewers watch, and English also reaches lower-paying markets such as India and the Philippines. Niche, retention and YouTube Partner Program eligibility decide what a channel earns.

Do I need permission from the speakers?

Yes. Only upload videos you have the rights to, with every speaker's permission to translate and dub their voice. You confirm both before a dub starts.

What happens to my files?

Source files are scheduled for deletion after 7 days and exported videos after 30 days, so download your MP4 when it's ready.
