An animated character

  • The character keeps its bright, young voice in Hindi.
  • Music and forest sounds stay under the new speech.
  • Stylized mouths rarely need lip-sync, so a plain dub is usually enough for animation.

Narration over footage

A narrator never shows their lips, so nothing has to match on screen. This is the simplest kind of video to dub into Hindi: the voice changes and the picture stays exactly as you cut it.

Who you reach

Where a Hindi version can be watched.

Hindi is one of several major languages of India: it is the main language across the north and center of the country and is widely understood beyond that region. It is also followed by Indian communities abroad and, in speech, by many Urdu speakers. For a creator, a Hindi version reaches a broad part of India, while much of the south and east speaks other languages.

CPM is what advertisers pay, not what a creator earns. Pay depends on where viewers watch, the niche and YouTube Partner Program eligibility. No result is guaranteed.

Before you publish

What to check in a Hindi dub.

A dub can't be corrected word by word, so listen to the result before you post it, ideally with a native speaker.

  • Tu, tum or aap

Hindi has several levels of "you": the intimate "tu", the familiar "tum" and the respectful "aap". Creators normally address viewers as "aap", so listen for anything more familiar than you intended.

  • Verbs show the speaker's gender

Many Hindi verb forms end differently for a man and for a woman speaking. Check that every speaker's lines match who they are, above all when several people talk.

  • Hindi or Hinglish

Everyday Hindi mixes in plenty of English, and a fully pure Hindi can sound like a government notice. Listen for whether tech and business terms stayed in English where your audience would expect them to.

Questions

Questions before you start

Which languages can I translate into Hindi from?

You don't choose a source language: the spoken language is detected automatically. You choose Hindi as the language to dub into.

Will the Hindi voice sound like the original speaker?

Each voice is created from the original speaker, so it should sound similar, not identical. Clear speech with little background noise gives the best result.

Which variety of Hindi does the dub use?

There is one Hindi option, with no regional variants to choose from. If a regional audience matters to you, ask a native speaker from that region to listen before you publish.

Can I get Hindi subtitles instead of a dub?

No. DubSync makes a dubbed MP4, not a subtitle file.

How long can the video be?

Up to 150 minutes and 1 GB per file, as an MP4, MOV or M4V.

How is a Hindi dub priced?

By the input minute: the length of your original video, for each target language. You upload first and see the minutes and the cost before anything starts.
