An animated character
- The character keeps its bright, young voice in Russian.
- Music and forest sounds stay under the new speech.
- Stylized mouths rarely need lip-sync, so a plain dub is usually enough for animation.
What is said: Hi, I'm Pip the Fox. My stories began in one language. Now, children can hear them in their own.

Narration over footage
A narrator never shows their lips, so nothing has to match on screen. This is the simplest kind of video to dub into Russian: the voice changes and the picture stays exactly as you cut it.

Who you reach
Where a Russian version can be watched.
Russian is the main language of Russia and is widely used in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and in parts of Central Asia and the Caucasus. Russian speakers also live in Germany, Israel, the Baltic states and the United States. For a creator, a Russian version can be followed in many countries, by people who speak it at home and by people who use it as an additional language.
Before you publish
What to check in a Russian dub.
A dub can't be corrected word by word, so listen to the result before you post it, ideally with a native speaker.
Ты or вы
Russian uses "ты" for friends and "вы" for strangers and for any group. Creators usually address their audience as "вы", so listen for a "ты" that sounds more familiar than you meant.
Past tense and gender
Russian past-tense verbs end differently for a man and a woman, as in "сделал" and "сделала". Listen to each speaker's account of what they did and check that the forms match the person.
Numbers and their endings
Russian numbers change their endings with their role in the sentence, and the noun that follows changes with them. Listen closely to quantities, dates and measurements.

Questions
Questions before you start
Which languages can I translate into Russian from?
You don't choose a source language: the spoken language is detected automatically. You choose Russian as the language to dub into.
Will the Russian voice sound like the original speaker?
Each voice is created from the original speaker, so it should sound similar, not identical. Clear speech with little background noise gives the best result.
Which variety of Russian does the dub use?
There is one Russian option, with no regional variants to choose from. If a regional audience matters to you, ask a native speaker from that region to listen before you publish.
Can I get Russian subtitles instead of a dub?
No. DubSync makes a dubbed MP4, not a subtitle file.
How long can the video be?
Up to 150 minutes and 1 GB per file, as an MP4, MOV or M4V.
How is a Russian dub priced?
By the input minute: the length of your original video, for each target language. You upload first and see the minutes and the cost before anything starts.
