What is said: I recorded this video once in English. Pick a language and hear the same video in a voice like mine.

What is said: Gravei este vídeo uma vez em inglês. Escolha um idioma e ouça o mesmo vídeo em uma voz como a minha.

What is said: Grabé este video una vez en inglés. Elige un idioma y escucha el mismo video en una voz como la mía.

Demo clip: an AI-generated scene with a fictional character. Dubbed with VDub v2, the model DubSync runs; lip-synced tracks use VSync v2.

Lip-sync shown in these examples is an optional paid add-on, separate from the dubbing trial.

These clips were made in English and dubbed into Portuguese with the model the app runs. Play one, then switch between the original and Portuguese.

An animated character

  • The character keeps its bright, young voice in Portuguese.
  • Music and forest sounds stay under the new speech.
  • Stylized mouths rarely need lip-sync, so a plain dub is usually enough for animation.

What is said: Hi, I'm Pip the Fox. My stories began in one language. Now, children can hear them in their own.

What is said: Oi, eu sou Pip, a raposa. Minhas histórias começaram em um idioma. Agora as crianças podem ouvi-las no seu próprio.

Narration over footage

A narrator never shows their lips, so nothing has to match on screen. This is the simplest kind of video to dub into Portuguese: the voice changes and the picture stays exactly as you cut it.

Who you reach

Where a Portuguese version can be watched.

Portuguese is the language of Brazil and Portugal, and the official language of Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde, among others. For a creator, a single Portuguese version can be watched on either side of the Atlantic: in South America, Europe and Africa.

CPM is what advertisers pay, not what a creator earns. Pay depends on where viewers watch, the niche and YouTube Partner Program eligibility. No result is guaranteed.

Before you publish

What to check in a Portuguese dub.

A dub can't be corrected word by word, so listen to the result before you post it, ideally with a native speaker.

  • Brazil or Portugal

Brazilian and European Portuguese differ clearly in accent, in everyday words and in grammar. Listen for which variety you hear, because viewers on each side notice the other at once.

  • Você, tu or o senhor

Most of Brazil says "você", Portugal and parts of Brazil say "tu", and "o senhor" or "a senhora" shows respect. Check that the dub's choice suits your audience and stays consistent.

  • Obrigado or obrigada

A man says "obrigado" and a woman "obrigada", and adjectives follow the same pattern. A wrong ending is easy to hear, so check the lines of every speaker.

Questions

Questions before you start

Which languages can I translate into Portuguese from?

You don't choose a source language: the spoken language is detected automatically. You choose Portuguese as the language to dub into.

Will the Portuguese voice sound like the original speaker?

Each voice is created from the original speaker, so it should sound similar, not identical. Clear speech with little background noise gives the best result.

Which variety of Portuguese does the dub use?

There is one Portuguese option, with no regional variants to choose from. If a regional audience matters to you, ask a native speaker from that region to listen before you publish.

Can I get Portuguese subtitles instead of a dub?

No. DubSync makes a dubbed MP4, not a subtitle file.

How long can the video be?

Up to 150 minutes and 1 GB per file, as an MP4, MOV or M4V.

How is a Portuguese dub priced?

By the input minute: the length of your original video, for each target language. You upload first and see the minutes and the cost before anything starts.
