These clips were made in English and dubbed into Italian with the model the app runs. Play one, then switch between the original and Italian.

An animated character

  • The character keeps its bright, young voice in Italian.
  • Music and forest sounds stay under the new speech.
  • Stylized mouths rarely need lip-sync, so a plain dub is usually enough for animation.

Narration over footage

A narrator never shows their lips, so nothing has to match on screen. This is the simplest kind of video to dub into Italian: the voice changes and the picture stays exactly as you cut it.

Who you reach

Where a Italian version can be watched.

Italian is the language of Italy, San Marino and Vatican City, and one of several languages spoken in Switzerland, mainly in the canton of Ticino. Italian communities abroad follow it too. For a creator, an Italian version is aimed above all at viewers in Italy.

CPM is what advertisers pay, not what a creator earns. Pay depends on where viewers watch, the niche and YouTube Partner Program eligibility. No result is guaranteed.

Before you publish

What to check in a Italian dub.

A dub can't be corrected word by word, so listen to the result before you post it, ideally with a native speaker.

  • Tu, Lei or voi

Italian uses "tu" for a friend, "Lei" as the polite form and "voi" for a group, which is how many creators address their audience. Check which one the dub settles on and whether it suits your video.

  • Endings that show gender

Italian adjectives and many past forms end differently for a man and a woman, as in "stanco" and "stanca". Listen for a woman's lines that came out in the masculine form, or the reverse.

  • English words, Italian sounds

Italian keeps many English words, in marketing and tech above all, but says them with Italian vowels and rhythm. Listen to how the English terms and brand names in your video are pronounced.

Questions

Questions before you start

Which languages can I translate into Italian from?

You don't choose a source language: the spoken language is detected automatically. You choose Italian as the language to dub into.

Will the Italian voice sound like the original speaker?

Each voice is created from the original speaker, so it should sound similar, not identical. Clear speech with little background noise gives the best result.

Which variety of Italian does the dub use?

There is one Italian option, with no regional variants to choose from. If a regional audience matters to you, ask a native speaker from that region to listen before you publish.

Can I get Italian subtitles instead of a dub?

No. DubSync makes a dubbed MP4, not a subtitle file.

How long can the video be?

Up to 150 minutes and 1 GB per file, as an MP4, MOV or M4V.

How is a Italian dub priced?

By the input minute: the length of your original video, for each target language. You upload first and see the minutes and the cost before anything starts.
